I was reading an article in the New York Times, Cake Mixes, Taken Seriously that details a new advertising plan being released by Duncan Hines.
According to the article, the popular cake mix company is moving away from their usual Mom-at-home-baking-for-the-kids commercials and moving towards a new generation of ads that cater towards a more grown-up approach to cakes, cupcakes and baking in general.
The new ads will concentrate on the ease of using a cake mix to create all kinds of very grown-up desserts. I happen to think this is a great idea and a wonderful way to include and celebrate bakers from all walks of life.
The ads are set to begin on May 16th and I personally will be looking forward to seeing them. In the meantime, you can ‘like’ Duncan Hines on Facebook to unlock the decadent chocolate recipes that are featured in their new commercials.
What do you think of Duncan Hines’ new approach? Share your thoughts here!
ps… The cupcake photo shown above is not from Duncan Hines. I just thought it looked tasty.
